This course, open to all Yorkshire & the Humber region, offers the unique opportunity for the centre to deliver this training within the confines of your practice, using the mobile manikin (ECS). The stipulation being that there must be a minimum of 10 persons available on that day. If this is not achievable the course will be held at the centre.
A patient collapses in your practice or has a strange reaction to a procedure.
- What should you do?
- How will the practice respond?
- What should the receptionist do?
- What equipment should be brought?
- How will you and your colleagues manage?
This half day training course at the Montagu Clinical Simulation Centre will help your practice manage those rare medical emergencies that you hope will never happen. Using the high fidelity manikin, realistic scenarios can be recreated in the dental chair or elsewhere in the practice. The course not only looks at the immediate medical management of the patient but also addresses some of the other issues, which can help the management of the situation go either very well or become a disaster.
Due to the increase in demand from practices for further scenarios, the facility is now in a position to be able to offer Dental Part 2. This is available to any dental practice that has previously completed the Dental 1 course.
The Montagu Clinical Simulation Centre is funded by the Strategic Health Authority to provide courses at no charge to yourself or your staff.
Dentists and Dental Care Professionals can use this as an opportunity to claim Verifiable CPD*.
As these courses are not funded by the Postgraduate Office, the organisation has been undertaken by the Montagu Clinical Simulation Centre. The CPD will not be recorded on our central database but a CPD certificate will be issued by the centre.
