Knowledge, skills and attitudes learnt in the classroom, the skills lab and on the ward can be consolidated by the management of realistic clinical scenarios. The course provides training in the management of sick patients applicable to the busy work of a Foundation Year One Doctor. Teamwork and communication, a major part of this management, is explored and its importance highlighted. This relaxed course allows students to brush up on their management skills of these challenging patients in a supportive atmosphere.
Preparation – revise the management of common conditions causing acutely ill patients in the medical and surgical wards. The Centre will be using the Resuscitation Council protocols used within the South Yorkshire Hospitals.
