Courses

RAMSI

The Recognition and Management of the Seriously Ill (RAMSI) Course is aimed at F1 doctors, junior nursing staff and junior physiotherapy staff who work in acute medical settings.

The course is open to all of Yorkshire & the Humber region.

Through this course, held at the Montagu Clinical Simulation Centre the attendees should gain the skills required to recognise and care for the acutely ill patient. We will help develop a systematic approach to these patients so that intervention can be undertaken as appropriate and safely take forward the patients care. We will not only cover the knowledge required but look at how anticipation, communication, teamwork and organisation are essential for the management of these patients. The importance of safety in healthy care will be highlighted and common precipitants of medical error will be identified.
