RAMSI for YAS

Course Information

This Recognition and Management of the Seriously Ill (RAMSI) Course is aimed at Paramedics, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Care Assistants who work on Emergency Ambulances.

The course is open to all of Yorkshire & the Humber region.  

Through this course, held at the Montagu Clinical Simulation Centre the attendees should gain the skills required to recognise and care for the acutely ill patient. We will help develop a systematic approach to these patients so that interventions can be undertaken as appropriate and safely take forward the patients care. We will not only cover the knowledge required but look at how anticipation, communication, teamwork and organisation are essential for the management of these patients. The importance of safety in health care will be highlighted and common precipitants of medical error will be identified.
