RAMSI (Recognition and Management of the Seriously Ill)

Course Information

This one day course is aimed at DBTH F1 Doctors, junior nursing staff and junior physiotherapy staff who work in acute ward settings.  Delegates gain the skills required to recognise and care for the acutely ill patient.

The MCSC helps delegates develop a systematic approach to these patients so that interventions can be undertaken as appropriate and safely take forward the patients care.  The course does not only cover the knowledge required but looks at how anticipation, communication, teamwork and organisational skills are essential for the management of these patients.  The importance of safety in health care will be highlighted, and common precipitants of medical error will be identified.  This course can be delivered externally using one of our mobile simulators.
